Kevin Hart stars in the new 'Fatherhood' trailer in tribute to single fathers

Kevin Hart stars in the new trailer for Fatherhood, which you can see below. It sees the traditionally comic actor put on his serious face and deliver a touching performance as he pays tribute to single fathers everywhere.

The new Netflix movie is set to be one of the more heart-wrenching stories shared this year and all in time for Father’s Day on June 18th too. It’s the perfect tearjerker to make the day even more special.

Based on the 2011 memoir Two Kisses for Maddy: A Memoir of Loss and Love by Matthew Logelin, the story focuses on Hart’s character whose wife died following a difficult birth.

He is therefore left not only with grief but also with the difficulty of having to learn how to be a father on the fly. The story chronicles his trials and tribulations with fatherhood and is set to be one of the most emotional moments of Hart’s career on screen.

Hart told Deadline, “When I started reading this script, I was immediately touched and brought to tears.”

“At HartBeat, we seek to provide the audience with stories that evoke true emotions and this story does just that. Our hope is to bring honor to the Logelin family, thrilled to work with Sony, Paul, and Temple Hill on such an incredible project.”

Directed by Paul Weitz, the film will also star Lil Rel Howery, DeWanda Wise, Anthony Carrigan and Paul Reiser. While Channing Tatum was scheduled to appear in the lead role in 2015, Hart took over the project in 2019, though Tatum remains an Executive Producer.
