Kevin Hart joins forces with Netflix for a one-of-a-kind comedy series

Kevin Hart’s partnership with Netflix has churned out more comedy pills than we were ever prepared for. But this time around, Hart is taking this collaboration to the next level with a brand-new comedy series. Unlike before, when the audience enjoyed Hart flexing his funny bones on screen, his next show requires active participation.

According to Tudum, Hart is making comedy bigger and better in 2026 with a fresh comedy series alongside several other comedy guardians. But instead of stealing the show, they will act as guides to contestants, putting forth a no-holds-barred comedy competition that’s equally hilarious and unfiltered, serving as a stepping stone to those who dream of a stand-up career.

Netflix has ordered an eight-episode comedy series. In this competition, contestants will encounter tests and obstacles that every comedian faces at some point during their real journeys. The series will make participants take on open mic nights and bombed sets. Additionally, it will also prepare them for big-stage performances.

The competition will provide insights into the comedy circuit, with a detailed look at the ups and downs of celebrated comedy trajectories. But if you think it’s just Hart, who’s an executive producer for the series, you’re mistaken. Joining Hart are Jane Lipsitz, Dan Cutforth, Nan Strait, and Dan Volpe.

So, in case you think you’ve got what it takes to be the next comedy king of America, the Netflix applications are open. The casting call is currently underway on www.us.castitreach.com for Kevin Hart: A Stand Up Competition.

This is just a working title. As of now, the show remains untitled. Hart’s Hartbeat and Alfred Street Industries have teamed up to bring this revolutionary comedy competition to Netflix. Applicants under the age of 21 cannot submit their applications for the series.

Additionally, contestants must legally reside in the US to qualify as a competitor. Netflix has yet to reveal when the comedy series will be released. However, it will premiere sometime next year. For those with questions, stay tuned for follow-up updates.
