‘Kaos’ creator is urging fans to keep pressure on Netflix bosses

It’s one of the toughest aspects of creating a TV series, but cancellation can strike any production for any reason as Netflix proved by axing the wildly adored Kaos earlier this week. Starring Jeff Goldblum and telling the Greek myths through a modern spectrum, Charlie Covell’s creation landed widespread applause.

However, that couldn’t save the show form the chop and one of the lead actors, Aurora Perrineau, posted on Instagram. that it would ending after only one season. It left fans bemused, despite the numbers behind the reasoning.

Covell has been defiant, however, and urged fans to keep the pressure on Netflix to reinstate the series by watching the show and keeping the conversation around Kaos ongoing. They said, “my hope now is that people still continue to discover and enjoy the show.”

“I reckon there are some potential fans out there who might need more time to find it, so please keep talking about Kaos if you enjoyed it,” wrote Covell, who also created the hit The End of the F***ing World series for Netflix.

Covell said they are “gutted not to be making more Kaos but I don’t want this news to overshadow what we did make.”

While it was understood that preparations for a second season of the show were wll underway, with the series gaining rave reviews, it would seem that the big budget production was a little crushed under its own weight and unable tyo create the instant impact the big red N needs to commission a sophomore season.

Covell continued by thanking fans: “I’ve been shown subreddits that have made my heart positively sing: the tiny details and Easter eggs you noticed made my day many times over.”

As a nod to the series, Covell joked that “there’s no renewal” is a phrase that is “satisfyingly meta, even in cancellation.”
