‘Kaos’ cast reveal thoughts on possible season two
Since Kaos arrived on Netflix on August 29th, fans have been wondering if a second season will be greenlit, considering that the final episode of season one left several questions that needed to be answered.
The show, starring Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, is a modern retelling of many Greek myths. Even those who aren’t very well-versed with the classic tales and characters will still enjoy Kaos because they are brought into a familiar setting, with themes and storylines relatable to many.
Kaos was created by Charlie Covell, who previously helmed The End of the F***ing World, which was incredibly popular on Netflix when it was released several years ago. Yet, with a lifelong love of Greek mythology, Covell finally decided to fully explore their interests within a new series. Consisting of eight episodes, the show also stars Billie Piper, Suzy Eddie Izzard, David Thewlis, Janet McTeer, and Killian Scott.
With Goldblum playing the main character, we witness his shock as he discovers a forehead wrinkle, which leaves him wondering if the end is near. As he grapples with this revelation, treating the other Gods tempestuously, several humans discover that they are connected to both each other and the Gods, subsequently changing the course of their lives.
As the title suggests, chaos ensues, and as the final episode draws to a close, we’re left wanting more – but whether we’ll be given a second season remains up in the air. Covell talked about the potential for another season in an interview with Cosmopolitan, stating that Netflix has not promised anything yet, but “they’ve been very supportive of it.”
Meanwhile, Caneus actor Misia Butler told the publication, “I want to go dark. There’s something in me. You’ve got Leila on one hand, the collected president. And you’ve got the other form of anarchy in Billie Piper. Riddy could go either way.”
Goldblum has also expressed interest in returning, telling Variety that there are so many ideas that Covell could bring to life in season two and calling it “fertile ground.”
We’ll have to wait and see if Kaos will return to our screens in the future. For now, there are eight episodes to enjoy.
