Joe Keery admits “it’s time” for ‘Stranger Things’ to end

Netflix’s Stranger Things has been one of the most popular shows on the streaming service for several years now, but the Duffer Brothers’ science fiction hit is going to come to an end with its fifth and final season, which appears to be good news for the actor Joe Keery.

Keery recently spoke to Women’s Wear Daily to open up on the show coming to an end, admitting that it’s likely time for things to be drawn to a close, echoing the thoughts of some of his co-stars, including David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown.

“It does feel like it’s time,” Keery noted. “It won’t be easy for it to end. I mean, I owe my whole career to being on that show, and all the opportunities that I had since are because of that show.”

Keery went on to admit that his feelings are somewhat “convoluted”, noting, “There’s a sense of relief, there’s a sense of sadness. I guess my goal is to just really soak it up as much as I can while we’re doing it, and not take any of it for granted because it’s been an amazing ride with such great people.

He continued, “And then once it’s done, move forward and try to just hold on to the joy that we had when we were making it. Everything has a beginning and the middle and an end. It’ll be nice to have the end of this too.”

Meanwhile, David Harbour had also suggested he was ready to bring Stranger Things to an end, telling Discussing Film, “Now we’re almost nine years from filming the first season, and I think it is time for it to end. But it is, of course, very bittersweet.”
