Jerry Seinfeld's 'Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story' coming to Netflix in May

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld will be starring as the lead character in a new Netflix feature film, Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story.

The film is Seinfeld’s newest project after releasing the stand-up special 23 Hours To Kill in 2020. He has also revealed that the writing team behind the new food-themed movie is the same that penned The Bee Movie with him.

According to an official synopsis by Netflix, “Kellogg’s and Post, sworn cereal rivals, race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever. A tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen.”

The movie is set in 1963 and features a star-studded cast, including Melissa. McCarthy, Hugh Grant, Amy Schumer, Christian Slater and Fred Armisen.

Seinfeld has Tweeted about the upcoming movie, which is set to hit Netflix on May 3rd, 2024. He teased several facts about the pop-tart tale, writing, “The story of how the Pop Tart was invented is told like The Right Stuff.”

He also added, “A few parts we did not make up,” suggesting that Seinfeld’s movie is loosely based on a real story, making the drama of a race to invent the best pop-tart even more exciting.

The comedian also wrote that the movie will be “clean,” meaning it will be suitable for younger viewers.
