This Jeremy Renner and Ben Affleck film is soaring Netflix charts

With Netflix constantly adding older film titles to its shelves beside the umpteen new Netflix Originals, a lot of forgotten films tend to catch the immediate attention of users. One such decade-old Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner film has now started soaring charts ever since its release.

Adapted from Chuck Hogan’s 2004 novel Prince of Thieves, Ben Affleck directed, co-wrote and acted in the 2010 film The Town that also starred Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall, Jon Hamm and Blake Lively in prominent roles.

A riveting crime thriller, the film was well-received by critics and was widely praised for its masterful direction and the phenomenal performance on the part of Renner, who even won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

The film revolves around a quartet of robber friends who plan to carry out a successful bank heist. However, they take the bank manager hostage to ensure their anonymity and prevent her from providing incriminating evidence.

However, when one of the burglars falls in love with her and dreams of starting a new crime-free life, complications ensue in the wake of a new task he has been entrusted with, along with his comrades.

Well-orchestrated and skillfully executed, the film records one of the most exemplary pieces of ensemble performances where Affleck praised Renner in particular. Renner’s overall intense and brooding personality adds to the outstanding atmospheric tension in this slick and stylish flick.
