Jenna Ortega promises more horror in ‘Wednesday’ season two

At the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet, Laverne Cox snagged a moment with Wednesday star Jenna Ortega, who is also going to be a producer on the hit Netflix series from the second season onwards.

Cox echoed fans when she asked Ortega to spill the beans, any variety of the lot, about what to expect from the Addams Family spin-off series.

The first season ended with Wednesday receiving a mysterious text from a possible new nemesis. Ortega, with a glint of excitement, shared what many ardent fans have been hoping for from the second season of Wednesday: more horror and possibly way fewer love triangles and teen romance tropes.

Ortega told Cox, “What I can say is that I have received some scripts for the second season. We are definitely leaning into a little bit more horror. It’s really, really exciting,” she continued while emphasising the need for Wednesday to remain who she is at her core, “because all throughout the show, while Wednesday does need a bit of an arc, she never really changes, and that’s the wonderful thing about her.”

Ortega continued revealing more of what’s happening in the upcoming season, “There’s some really, really good one-liners, and I think everything’s bigger. It’s a lot more action-packed… I think each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie, which is nice.”

With Ortega stepping into her new role as a producer, it appears Wednesday is gearing up to deliver yet another unforgettable experience for Netflix viewers.
