Jenna Ortega announces dream castmate for 'Wednesday' season two

Jenna Ortega is on top of the world right now as the beloved star of Wednesday. Her role as the titular macabre schoolgirl Wednesday Addams has proved instantly iconic, and we already know from the slew of behind-the-scenes stories coming to the fore that the 20-year-old exercises a fair bit of sway over the direction of the show.

Now, Ortega has announced her dream castmate for the forthcoming second season. The star said that she would simply “love” to see A Star is Born lead Lady Gaga crop up in the spooky series.

Lady Gaga revealed that she was a huge Wednesday fan recently. The ‘Bad Romance’ singer even recreated the famed prom dance from the series on her TikTok account.

The duo then even interacted on Twitter, with Gaga responding to love from the Wednesday account by saying: “Slay Wednesday! You’re welcome at Haus of Gaga anytime (and bring Thing with you, we love paws around here).”

Thus, with a burgeoning bromance on the go, when Ortega was asked by Variety whether any chance Gaga could make an appearance in season two, she said: “I’m sure Netflix would love that.” Clearly, Ortega would love it too.

She continued: “I think Mrs. Thornhill and Wednesday had this weird mentor relationship or kind of understood each other in a certain way, so, if Lady Gaga were to be a part, I think it would have to be two monsters that understand each other.”

With the sizeable creative control that Ortega has over the show, then this fantasy might turn out to be more than a mere pipe dream after all.
