Horror genre filmmakers and The Conjuring universe alum James Wan and David F. Sandberg are reuniting for an upcoming Netflix horror film that has been termed a “genre thriller”.
Titled Below, the film will be directed by Sandberg and produced by Wan. The film will be based on Greg Weidman’s script. While not much is known about the film, it will be exciting to see The Conjuring alum come together.
Sandberg directed Annabelle: Creation, a spin-off to the 2013 Conjuring universe created by Wan. Sandberg has recently directed films like Lights Out and Shazam! Fury of Gods.
After his longstanding stint with films like Saw, Insidious, The Conjuring, The Devil Made Me Do It and more, Wan moved from the horror film genre to direct Furious 7, Aquaman etc.
He made a return to his beloved genre with the 2021 film Malignant.
Wan’s Insidious franchise is set to get its fifth instalment with Patrick Wilson making his directorial debut.
Wan has recently worked on the Netflix horror series Archive 81 which got cancelled after just one season despite rave ratings and reviews.
