Jack Black and Paul Rudd’s ‘Anaconda’ is coming to Netflix this March
No cinephile is actually oblivious to Jack Black and Paul Rudd’s brand of laugh-out-loud comedy. So, it should come as welcome news that their monster comedy, Anaconda, is soon reaching streaming on Netflix.
Directed by Tom Gormican, Anaconda was released in theatres nationwide on Christmas Day 2025. While the film already made its streaming debut earlier via premium video-on-demand on January 27th, it will be right at home on Netflix this March.
According to the official synopsis, “THIS IS NOT A REBOOT. It is an entirely original comedy, inspired by the cinematic ‘classic’ Anaconda, that features Doug and Griff, who have been best friends since they were kids and have always dreamed of. When a midlife crisis pushes them to finally go for it, they head deep into the Amazon to start filming.”
“But things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears, turning their comically chaotic movie set into a deadly situation. The movie they’re dying to make? It might just get them killed…”
Anaconda is rated PG-13 and features a star-studded ensemble accompanying Black and Rudd, including Steve Zahn, Daniela Melchoir, Selton Mello, and Thandiwe Newton.
When Anaconda was released in theatres, it grossed a worldwide box office total of $134.2million against a production budget of $45million before marketing costs (via Variety). So, its impending arrival on Netflix this month will capitalise on existing popularity while counting on the inevitable new audience discovery.
Considering Black and Rudd’s comedic star appeal, Anaconda could easily become the next big thing to land on Netflix, which, in turn, can spike the curiosity surrounding the 1997 version starring Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz, and Owen Wilson. Although the 2025 version will be available on Netflix in no time, the original Anaconda is streaming on STARZ.
As for when Anaconda’s coming to Netflix? Well, the date is March 26th. Mark your calendars now.
But for viewers without a Netflix subscription, the streaming service has two distinct plans where content is available to stream on two devices. The ad-based plan is priced at $7.99 per month, and the ad-free package costs $17.99 per month. While Netflix also has an ad-free HD package at $24.99 supporting four devices at a time, before Anaconda lands on streaming, we hope you’ll pick what’s best for you.
