Is the Jake Paul v Mike Tyson fight free to watch?

In what promises to be one of the most watched and most controversial fights of all time, Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will go head to head in a boxing bout on November 15th. The fight will take place at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Texas and is set to be streamed on Netflix.

Former heavyweight champion Tyson, 58, and YouTube star Paul, 27, were initially supposed to fight in July. The fight got delayed as a health scare made it so the heavyweight boxer had to postpone.

Tyson was told to postpone the fight after suffering an ulcer flare-up on a flight. It was subsequently moved to this week in November, and assuming no more issues crop up at the last minute; it looks as though the fight will go ahead as planned. It’s an unprecedented fight and an unprecedented moment for Netflix, which will stream the event live on its platform.

Over the past two years, Netflix has experimented with live programmes, showing tennis matches, hot dog eating contests and comedy specials. These have all been relatively small events, broadcast in the interest of perfecting Netflix’s live capabilities ahead of larger events, such as this fight.

The fight won’t be pay-per-view; it will be available to all Netflix subscribers, new and existing. It will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The stadium is usually the home of the Dallas Cowboys, but the 80,000 seats have been converted for the return of one of the most famous heavyweight boxers of all time.

The event is scheduled to begin at 1am GMT (5pm PT, 7pm CT, and 8pm ET). There is yet to be any confirmed time for the Paul and Tyson ring walks; however, they are expected to take place at around 4am GMT on Saturday morning (8pm PT, 10pm CT, 11pm ET).

The fight is scheduled for eight two-minute rounds. Knockouts are allowed, and the fighters won’t be wearing headguards. That being said, both boxers will be wearing 14-ounce gloves, which are heavier than the standard 10-ounce versions.

It has yet to be officially confirmed how much both fighters are getting paid for the event; however, it is speculated that Paul is taking home $40million. In a press conference, he said, “I’m here to make $40m and knock out a legend.” According to his friend Henry Cejudo, Tyson will earn approximately half that, at around $20m.
