There are countless scary movies on Netflix. Whether it is the horror classic The Conjuring or the wildly popular Midsommar — horror movies certainly have a home on the streaming platform.
However, Netflix may want to re-think sharing their 2020 movie His House too widely. It has reportedly turned viewers away from their screens and forced them to turn off the movie before its climax.
The official synopsis for His House reads: “A refugee couple makes a harrowing escape from war-torn South Sudan, but then they struggle to adjust to their new life in an English town that has an evil lurking beneath the surface.”
The movie is arguably one of the best horror movies of recent years, gaining a huge following before landing on Netflix and gaining an impressive 100% score on the film rating site Rotten Tomatoes. Starring Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith, the movie has gone largely under the radar. However, if you’re unsure whether you can handle the flick, then best to check in with these users first.
One Twitter user noted: “I am in here literally screaming in broad daylight watching.” While another suggested: “I finally watched His House yesterday on Netflix and…. first off, it scared the hell out of me at certain points… 2nd… I love Wunmi Mosaku, she is an excellent actress, and I can’t wait to see her in more things.
“This film is a MUST watch. I can’t recommend it enough.”
