Here are the 2026 SAG Actor Awards winners
The 2026 SAG Actor Awards absolutely delivered talent and main-character energy from start to finish. Sunday night at the Shrine Auditorium was not just an awards show… it was a moment. Actors honouring actors is always elite, but this year? Oh, the stars aligned.
Let’s begin where we must: Sinners. When that cast won Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, you could see the eyes in the room glittering. That win wasn’t just polite applause but a complete recognition. The film has been building momentum all season, and the SAG voters sealed the deal by showing their love.
And then Michael B. Jordan is taking Male Actor in a Leading Role? Fair by all means. The man has been putting in the work for years, and this felt like the coronation. This category was a tough one to win, and he did it with some serious confidence and, of course, a brilliant performance. The standing ovation said everything. It was career-peak energy, and the speech was oozing gratitude.
And while we are talking about leading performances, Jessie Buckley’s win for Hamnet felt correct. Deeply correct. That was one of those performances that doesn’t beg for attention but ends up living in your bones. When her name was called, it felt like the actors in that room were acknowledging craft at its highest level.
The supporting categories? Totally delicious. Sean Penn winning for One Battle After Another brought that classic, intense gravitas we have come to expect from him. Meanwhile, Amy Madigan winning Supporting Actress for Weapons was such a joyful surprise moment. You have to agree that veteran performers getting their flowers is one of the best parts of SAG. It felt celebratory, not overdue.
On the television side, The Pitt had a night. Winning Drama Ensemble is no small thing, but this show did it. And then Noah Wyle taking Male Actor in a Drama Series? That’s a comeback arc if I’ve ever seen one. Long-time TV fans were emotional. It, indeed, was a full-circle narrative.
Comedy, though? The Studio absolutely ate. Winning Ensemble in a Comedy Series cemented it as the industry favourite, and Seth Rogen winning Male Actor in a Comedy Series was the cherry on top.
Another beautiful yet sad part was Catherine O’Hara winning Female Actor in a Comedy Series. She passed away just now, and her presence was terribly missed. She remains unmatched.
And let’s not ignore the limited series categories. Michelle Williams winning for Dying for Sex was a reminder that she will always commit at 200 per cent. Fearless and vulnerable, this woman absolutely nailed it. Meanwhile, Owen Cooper’s win for Adolescence was no surprise, to be frank.
By the end of the night, one thing was clear: film had Sinners, TV had The Pitt and The Studio, and the industry had its frontrunners fully locked in.
