'Grey's Anatomy' is nearing 'Suits' on Nielsen streaming charts

Once again, the legal drama Suits, created by Aaron Korsh, remains king of the streaming charts, holding its position at #1 on Nielsen’s Top 10 Streaming chart, clocking 1.43 billion minutes viewed on both Peacock and Netflix.

However, despite the enormous figures, viewership has still dipped by 20% from the week before, with views gradually declining since September, indicating that audiences may have finished their binge. Suits was made available in July, giving audiences roughly three months to make their way through all eight seasons.

Debuting on USA Network in June 2011, the lawyer-based drama starred Gabriel Macht (Because I Said So, Beverly Hills, 90210) as Harvey Specter, Patrick J. Adams (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Right Stuff) as Michael Ross, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (Horrible Bosses, Remember Me) as Rachel Zane.

According to Deadline, however, ABC’s medical drama Grey’s Anatomy is close behind, coming in at #2 on Nielsen’s streaming chart. While the show features regularly on the charts, it’s reportedly never been so high up, clocking in 958 million minutes viewed on Netflix.

First airing in March 2005, the show is nearly 20 years old and has 19 seasons. It features Ellen Pompeo (Station 19, Catch Me If You Can) as Meredith Grey, Sandra Oh (The Princess Diaries, Killing Eve) as Cristina Yang, and Patrick Dempsey (Enchanted, Bridget Jones’ Baby) as Derek Shepherd.

The 19th season of the show was made available on Netflix in June. The success of the series propelled many of its regular actors, such as Pompeo, Dempsey, and Oh, to global fame; in 2013, they were ranked among the top five highest-earning TV actors.

Love Is Blind takes the third spot, accumulating 943million minutes on Netflix. Elementary and Bluey follow in fourth and fifth places with 862million and 794million minutes, respectively, on Disney+. On Netflix, Reptile ranks sixth with 740million minutes, Sex Education seventh with 734million minutes, and Virgin River eighth with 709million minutes.
