Golden Globes 2025: Every Netflix nominated movie or TV series

Netflix has once again swept the board in terms of nominations at a major awards ceremony, picking up a massive 36 nods for the Golden Globes 2025 – more than any other studio or television network.

The streaming giant’s biggest story from the nominations is the impressive dominance of musical crime drama Emilia Pérez. It received 10 nominations across a host of categories, including ‘Best Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy’, ‘Best Foreign Language Film’, and ‘Best Director—Motion Picture’ for Jacques Audiard.

In acting terms, stars Zoe Saldaña and Selena Gomez were both nominated for ‘Best Performance by an Actress In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture’. At the same time, Karla Sofía Gascón made history by becoming the first transgender actor to be nominated by the Golden Globes in a motion picture category. In fact, the film itself also made history, as it is now the Globes’ most nominated film in the ‘Musical or Comedy’ category.

Elsewhere in film, Angelina Jolie picked up a ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama’ nod for Maria, while Glen Powell’s Hit Man notched him a nomination for ‘Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy Or Musical’. Netflix will also vie for the ‘Best Animated Feature Film’ prize with Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Vile.

Switching gears to television, and Netflix’s dominance was once again evident. Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, Baby Reindeer, The Diplomat, Nobody Wants This, and Ripley all received three nominations each across a variety of categories.

Other shows picked up interesting nominations, too. Keira Knightley’s excellent turn in spy thriller Black Doves will fight it out with Keri Russell’s brilliant Kate Wyler from The Diplomat for ‘Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series – Drama’. Similarly, Ted Danson’s hilarious turn in A Man on the Inside will be part of the ‘Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series – Comedy Or Musical’ category alongside Adam Brody for Nobody Wants This.

In addition, Sofia Vergara’s transformative performance as drug Queenpin Griselda Blanco in Griselda will be in the mix for ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television’.

To find out who will take home the prizes and who will leave empty-handed, simply tune in to the 82nd Golden Globe Awards on January 5th, 2025.
