Five things you might have missed from the ‘Bridgerton’ season four premiere masquerade
Netflix likes to go big when it comes to its fan-favourite shows, and we’re not here to complain. If anything, we’re practically still swooning from the Bridgerton season four premiere masquerade, the recently held global live-streamed celebration, which transported all of us straight into the heart of Mayfair.
The celebration was streamed live on Tudum from Paris’s iconic Palais Brongniart, which showcased fans a preview of the Regency-era drama, romance, and royalty that awaits them, thanks to an exclusive extended first look at what’s to come in the fourth instalment.
But in addition to that, the season four premiere masquerade brought exciting revelations, from star-studded red-carpet moments to the virtual screening of the premiere episode of Bridgerton’s fourth season.
So, in case you couldn’t make it in real time, here’s a recap of the five most unforgettable moments from the season four premiere masquerade.
The five most memorable moments from Bridgerton’s premiere masquerade
Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha’s dreamy entry
Sparks were flying like never before when Bridgerton’s season four romantic leads, Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha, stepped onto the red carpet hand-in-hand, leaving fans practically screaming and swooning all the same. Ha walked the carpet in an elegant mint satin Prada gown, featuring crystal-detailed straps and a peekaboo cutout. Meanwhile, Thompson looked dashing in an all-black suit with a floral lapel accent.
During their interview, Ha enthusiastically revealed that she found her romantic inspiration for the fourth season in Emily Henry, the author of People We Meet on Vacation, as well as various other love stories.
Red carpet revelations
The red carpet interviews with the cast at the Bridgerton season four premiere masquerade were actually quite insightful in providing viewers with an idea of their characters and their influences.
Series newcomer Michelle Mao revealed that her character, Rosamund Li, takes inspiration from Marie Antoinette, a figure whose grandeur reflects Rosamund’s position in society. Mao’s season four costumes also mirror this inspiration as they feature a recreated necklace modelled after a real Marie Antoinette design.
Similarly, Hugh Sachs and Golda Rosheuvel shared details about their respective characters’ visual parlance. According to Sachs, Brimsley’s unfaltering devotion is emotive through a signature colour choice. “He’s always in purple,” Sachs said, pointing to his own purple tie on the red carpet. On the other hand, Rosheuvel pulled back the curtains on a telling statement about Queen Charlotte in season four’s opening masquerade. “She’s quite defiant – she refuses to wear a mask. She’s the queen.”
On other news, Thompson hinted at a blink-and-you-miss-it Easter egg, unveiling that a tiepin worn this season will bring something “full circle.” Lastly, Claudia Jessie finally opened up about Eloise’s evolving journey this season, confessing that her character continues to revolt against the rules imposed on her.
