Five Netflix releases to keep an eye out for this week

We know what you’ve been thinking: it’s already Monday. Then, where exactly is our weekly recommendation of all things new on Netflix? Well, not too far.

Netflix has sworn to keep the entertainment roster packed at all times this December, which means you might run out of Christmas gifts to count on, but not exciting new projects.

From the George Clooney and Adam Sandler-led comedy spin to Daniel Craig’s much-awaited comeback as Benoit Blanc, December has not been short of showbiz highlights. And this week? Netflix has every intention to continue that streak.

So, for those wondering what the streaming powerhouse has to offer this time around, here are the five Netflix releases to keep an eye out for this week.

Five Netflix releases to watch out for this week

The Manny (Carolina Rivera, 2023-Present)

Most babysitters on Netflix, whether or not they belong to a demonic cult, are usually women, except for The Manny, who has had viewers’ hearts since 2023. In case you’re new to the club, the fan-favourite Mexican dramedy revolves around a single mom of three who’s desperately on the hunt for a new nanny who has it in them to keep up with her hell-raising children.

While she has had nannies before, each and every one of them has had their reasons to leave the job, which most certainly has a lot to do with the fact that her kids love to prank. However, since she’s in line to take over her father’s company, she has no option but to open her door to a new nanny, the manny who also happens to be a cowboy and probably the only person who can keep up with the troublesome kids. The first two seasons are currently streaming on Netflix, and the third one is scheduled to drop on December 17th. So, save the date!

Murder in Monaco (Hodges Usrey, 2025)

Netflix’s true crime documentary catalogue is one of the key reasons viewers were glued to the screen throughout 2025. Now, it’s time to add another one as the streamer looks across the pond for inspiration with Murder in Monaco, slated to drop on Netflix on December 17th. The 90-minute docu-film recounts the 1999 killing of one of the richest bankers in the world, Edmond Safra, who was found dead in his penthouse under mysterious circumstances.

Packed with exclusive interviews from key individuals close to the investigation, Murder in Monaco aims to “unpack the mysterious death of billionaire banker, Edmond Safra.” While viewers may have heard of the high-profile case before, with the docu-film, Netflix plans to dig deeper for answers, bringing to light one of the most unimaginable crime cases the world has probably seen.

10Dance (Keishi Ōtomo, 2025)

Based on Inoe Sato’s manga series of the same name, Netflix is bringing a Japanese romantic film, 10Dance, on December 18th, to fulfil those cosy holiday cravings. Starring Takeuchi Ryoma and Machida Keita as two incredibly famous dancers, one a Latin dance champion and another a standard dance champion, the Netflix dramedy revolves around two unlikely partners who join forces for a prestigious competition.

Although the alliance materialises due to very different reasons, contrastingly rooted in a cutthroat competitive nature and a genuine urge to win, the partnership ultimately results in sparks they didn’t sign up for. But that’s exactly why you should be here when it’s time.

Emily in Paris (Darren Star, 2022-Present)

Once you’re done with the unexpectedly eccentric pair of dancers, make room for the Cupid fireworks that’s going to make the fifth season of Emily in Paris one of a kind. For a change of air, the Netflix rom-com series is opening the doors at the Roman ruins this time, and we know you cannot wait after the curveballs season four threw at us.

But just because Emily is in Rome, don’t expect the Netflix series to change the name once and for all, because she will be back in Paris just in time for the holidays. With a new lover on the block and newer troubles on the rise, don’t forget to grab your passports on December 18th as Cooper returns to Paris with her designated designer drama.

The Great Flood (Kim Byung-woo, 2025)

Lastly, to wrap up the weekly marathon, let’s take a trip down the sci-fi lane with the upcoming Korean disaster film, The Great Flood, scheduled for release on December 19th. The Netflix movie opens amid a catastrophic global flood, centring around AI researcher An-na and her son as they navigate survival in a drowning apartment building.

There, they run into an enigmatic security team member, who suggests that a larger conspiracy, probably man-made at that, could be behind the flood, which means it may not be a natural calamity. But what’s the truth and what’s not is for you to find when The Great Flood lands on Netflix this Friday. So, stay seated!
