While Netflix has established quite a few career milestones this year, from landing record-breaking Emmys to finding its most-watched movie of all time, there’s a lot more left in the bingo card, and December is proof.

Netflix brought its fair share of surprises in the first week of December, with over 90 movies and shows added to the platform. But now that we’re into the second week, it’s time to buckle up for some more.

So, in case you thought this week would be one without new stuff to look forward to, here are five Netflix releases to keep an eye out for.

Five Netflix releases to watch out for this week

Record of Ragnarok (Masao Ōkubo and Koichi Hatsumi, 2021-Present)

Unless you’re living under a rock, it’s impossible to remain oblivious to the anime phenomenon that Record of Ragnarok has been. After two successful seasons, the third instalment of the hit Japanese anime series, adapted from the manga series of the same name, is finally coming to Netflix this December.

The third season of Record of Ragnarok will continue the journey of 13 one-on-one battles to ensure the survival of the human race. Fans will be witnesses to the seventh battle, which serves as the tiebreaker between the gods and humans. The fan-favourite series is set to return on December 10th, so don’t forget to save the date.

Man vs Baby (Rowan Atkinson and William Davies, 2025)

The festive season is nothing without some holiday laughter to count on, and Netflix knows it all too well. Hence, in the wake of the Yuletide cheers, Netflix is dropping a comedy limited series created and written by Rowan Atkinson and William Davies on December 11th, in which the former also stars as Trevor Bingley. Serving as the follow-up to Man vs Bee, Man vs Baby picks up right after the barrage of chaos in the last series.

In this upcoming miniseries, Trevor is busy with a far quieter job on the block as a school caretaker. But when he fails to contain the temptation of a lucrative Christmas penthouse gig, despite no one around to collect the Baby Jesus from the school’s proximity, he decides to make the most of the holidays with his unexpected companion, unaware of what he just signed up for.

City of Shadows (Jorge Torregrossa, 2025)

For those missing some holiday thrills, City of Shadows is coming your way to fulfil the thriller cravings on December 12th. The Spanish series serves as one of the last series starring the late actress, Verónica Echegui, who joined forces with Isak Ferriz in the six-episode whodunit. The forthcoming murder mystery opens at the iconic heritage site, La Pedrera – Casa Milà, in Barcelona, Spain, when a burned body is found on the front.

Despite being recently suspended from the Mossos d’Esquadra for insubordination, this case becomes a calling for Inspector Milo Malart, who returns to duty to uncover the perpetrator behind the heinous crime. Joining him on the case is Deputy Inspector Rebeca Garrido, and together they must find a way to bring answers to the questions everyone has been asking since the crime.

Home for Christmas (Per-Olav Sørensen, 2020-Present)

After quite a few years of waiting, Netflix is returning with its beloved rom-com series, Home for Christmas, this December, and you need to mark the calendar right now. The third season picks up five years after the events of season two, with Ida Elise Broch reprising her role as Johanne. Haunted by the heartbreak she had last Christmas, Johanne plans to stay out of love-related chaos this time around.

While she has done everything to keep herself busy, from helping her siblings to taking care of her father, once she decides to try her hand at dating, she feels a lot has changed. But whether the shift is in the dating scene or Johanne herself, to find out, tune into Home for Christmas’s third season on December 12th.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (Rian Johnson, 2025)
