Five Netflix releases to keep an eye out for this week

The year is unfolding as fast as a spinning top on the loose, and some days, all you want is for it to slow down. While, of course, you cannot exactly put a fence on time and expect it to obey, what you can do instead is make room for a showbiz break because Netflix has quite a fascinating lineup scheduled for the week.

Although transitions are never easy, especially considering everything March had to offer, even with the onset of April, Netflix has a strong queue of content ready for release.

From long-awaited returns to highly anticipated new launches, April is going to witness Netflix in full bloom.

So, in case you’re planning an escape, consider the five Netflix releases to keep an eye out for this week as your roadmap.

Five Netflix releases to watch out for this week

Agent from Above (Donnie Lai, 2026)

Premiering April 2nd on Netflix globally, Agent from Above is an upcoming Taiwanese fantasy series based on Teensy’s novel series, The Oracle Comes. Directed by Donnie Lai, the supernatural series entwines elements of Taoist folk tradition and modern urban fantasy, telling the story of Han Chieh, a spirit medium coerced to serve the Third Crown Prince to compensate for a terrifying mistake made in his youth.

Agent from Above follows Han on his mission of atonement as he’s tasked with resolving the supernatural threats hovering over the human world. While on his journey, Han joins forces with Yeh Tzu, a promising college-goer, and Chang Min, a detective gifted with the rare ability of seeing ghosts. Although the trio sets out for the good of human society, they soon find terror knocking on the door, caught in the crosshairs of Chen Chi-sha, who, along with Chen Wu Tien-chi, aims to dismantle the balance between the human and demon worlds.

Sins of Kujo (Nobuhiro Doi, 2026)

Up next on Netflix’s spring lineup is the live-action adaptation of Shohei Manabe’s manga series, Sins of Kujo, also releasing on April 2nd. The Japanese crime drama follows Taiza Kujo, a merciless lawyer, infamous for taking on the most morally ambiguous cases. According to Netflix, Kujo’s work motto is quite simple, but provocative, just like his client base. It says, “A lawyer isn’t guided by ideology; my duty is simply to defend my client.”

Sins of Kujo follows Taiza as he harnesses the law as a weapon to shield his clientele, regardless of how villainous or harmful they may be, instead of using it to bring justice to those wronged by them. The Netflix series implores viewers to analyse and introspect on the extremely thin line between justice and corruption, where an institution designed to protect civilians becomes the vessel of ensuring the opposite.

XO, Kitty (Jenny Han, 2023-Present)

Are you ready to go back to school? Because Kitty Song Covey is completely packed with her bags to return to the Korean Independent School of Seoul, AKA KISS, for her senior year in XO, Kitty, season three on Netflix, slated for release on April 2nd, too. This year is crucial for Kitty, and like any enthusiastic senior, she has the year all planned out – make more memories with friends, reconnect with Korean relatives, and decide what’s next.

But most importantly, Kitty plans to define her relationship with Min-ho, and there’s no going back. However, XO, Kitty, season three is all about surprises, and some may cause delays to tick off everything that’s there on the senior year bucket list. As for how Kitty handles it? Well, only time will reveal whether she learns to embrace the unexpected or gets caught off guard by it.

Bloodhounds (Kim Joo-hwan, 2023-Present)

As it turns out, XO, Kitty is not your only ticket to South Korea this week since Bloodhounds is returning to pack punches with a second season just a day later, on April 3rd. The new instalment takes place three years after the events of the debut season, with a bigger stage and higher stakes, as the Korean revenge saga enters the cutthroat world of an underground international boxing league.

Gun-woo and Woo-jin will once again take centre stage in Bloodhounds season two, as the former becomes even more driven to try and make his dream of becoming a boxing champion true after taking down the loan sharks. And with Woo-jin on his side of the court as his coach and chosen family, things will get intensely interesting as the duo confronts a dangerous new rival: Baek-jeong, whose only priorities are money and power.

The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson (Marina Zenovich, 2026)

Coming to our final stop for the week, Netflix has a true-crime documentary, The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson, scheduled to drop on April 3rd. Directed by Marina Zenovich, the Netflix documentary revisits the tragic murder of Moriah Wilson, a passionate cyclist whose dreams, years of hard work, and family were upended within seconds.

The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson examines the highly publicised pursuit of Wilson’s killer and the trial that followed, featuring interviews with her family, friends, and colleagues. While the documentary aims to highlight her case, it’s more than a story of love and loss, exploring grief as an anchor that moulds lives and revealing moments of strength and transformation that make people survive the toughest times.
