Whether you’re prepared or not, the fireworks of entertainment have already begun to light up the streaming sky. So, sit tight, and keep the snacks ready for the ultimate Netflix marathon this week of October.

Five Netflix releases to keep an eye out for this week

Mob War: Philadelphia vs The Mafia (Netflix Original Productions, 2025)

Mob War: Philadelphia vs The Mafia is an upcoming true-crime docu-series that revisits the terrifying war mob era in 1993 Philadelphia. It revisits the power void left following Nicky Scarfo’s 1986 arrest, which was followed by the rise of John Stanfa, handpicked by New York’s Five Families to reinstate order of the criminal underworld.

Yet, Stanfa’s ascent was soon threatened by a new pedigree of gangsters, led by the equally notorious Joey Merlino. Their confrontation led to a bloody upheaval, resulting in fleeting loyalties and dangerous ambitions. The three-part docu-series is coming to Netflix on October 22nd. Don’t forget to save the date.

The Monster of Florence (Stefano Sollima, 2025)

When it comes to true-crime stories, it’s hard to resist hitting the play button, especially when Netflix brings a double dose within a week. So, once you’re done with Mob War: Philadelphia vs The Mafia, prepare for another binge session with The Monster of Florence. The four-episode limited series traces and dramatizes the era of terror unleashed by the first ruthless serial killer in Italy’s history that led to one of the longest investigations in the country.

The Monster of Florence is based on the ongoing legal proceedings, starting from the first inquiry in 1968, and it will be available for streaming on Netflix this October 22nd.

Nobody Wants This (Erin Foster, 2024-Present)

As one of the most beloved rom-coms in Netflix history, Nobody Wants This deserves all the buzz it gets in the wake of its return with a second season. The first season of the Netflix drama saw Joanne and Noah falling head over heels for each other. Although there were a few hiccups last season, Noah won her over with the ultimate grand gesture in the parking lot after a bat mitzvah.

The second season of Nobody Wants This would explore their deepening connection, focusing on the cultural differences and what awaits next in their love story. Nobody Wants This is slated to return this October 23rd and we hope you’re ready to dive straight in.

The Elixir (Kimo Stamboel, 2025)

Halloween is nothing without a fair share of horror movies. And this week, Netflix is bringing you a zombie movie to keep the chills going. The Indonesian horror thriller, The Elixir, tells the story of the sudden zombie outbreak in a secluded village near the city of Yogyakarta, which will bring shivers down your spines this pumpkin season.

The outbreak is an outcome of a family-run herbal medicine business’s attempt to create a new recipe, which tragically goes wrong in more ways than one. The Elixir is also coming to Netflix on October 23rd. So, watch out!

A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE (Kathryn Bigelow, 2025)

Lastly, the political thriller Netflix viewers have been waiting all this time with bated breath from the Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow, A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE, is also inching closer to its release. The high-octane movie starring Rebecca Ferguson and Idris Elba revolves around the US government’s response to a single unidentified intercontinental ballistic missile.

A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE is scheduled to be released on Netflix on October 24th, following its release in select theatres in the UK and US. Make sure to end this week on a power-packed note before the fictional fireworks begin flying for the next one.
