From tell-all documentaries to gripping new mystery thrillers and fan-favourite comebacks, Netflix has curated a first-week lineup that’ll give you a taste of what awaits the entire month of February.

Even though the ‘new year, new me’ energy is long gone, immersing yourself in ‘what’s new on Netflix’ will never run out of trend.

So, if you’re someone who has been looking forward to a February watchlist that’s so enticing that taking a bathroom break feels like a crime, here are five Netflix releases to keep an eye out for this week.

The Investigation of Lucy Letby (Dominic Sivyer, 2026)

Netflix has scheduled a feature documentary on the British neonatal nurse found guilty of murdering seven babies placed under her care, titled The Investigation of Lucy Letby, to be released on February 4th. According to a press release, the documentary consists of “new material and testimony from the British police who investigated the case and never-before-seen footage of Letby during her arrest and questioning.”

Although the documentary has yet to be released, it has already stirred unforeseen controversies. The 90-minute docu-film features an interview with one of Letby’s victims’ mothers, which is the first time a family member involved in the prosecution has opened up about the crimes besides during the trial. The Investigation of Lucy Letby also comprises accounts of experts and lawyers weighing in on the case.

The Lincoln Lawyer (David E Kelley, 2022-Present)

When you’re done with work on February 5th, head straight home because it’s officially The Lincoln Lawyer day on Netflix. The hit legal drama series, based on Michael Connelly’s The Law of Innocence, will see Manuel Garcia-Rulfo reprise his role as Los Angeles’ most dedicated defence attorney, Micky Haller, and will pick up right after the bloodbath of the third instalment, in the fourth season.

The Lincoln Lawyer’s upcoming season is expected to reveal the consequences of the deaths of the show’s crucial characters. Meanwhile, the audience will also get their answers about Micky, following the cops’ opening of the trunk of the Lincoln. While the showrunners have already promised the biggest rollercoaster in the fourth instalment, to take part in the same, don’t forget to save the date and tune in to Netflix before spoilers spoil the fun.

Unfamiliar (Lennart Ruff and Philipp Leinemann, 2026)

Netflix is dropping a gritty new mystery thriller, Unfamiliar, from its 2026 German slate of productions, which was recently unveiled by the streamer. Set in the heart of Berlin, the high-stakes crime drama follows ex-spies Simon and Meret, who oversee a safe house known as ‘The Nest,’ serving as a refuge to those who don’t want to be found, hidden from plain sight.

While all seems to be going well, when a seemingly buried threat unexpectedly reappears, Simon and Meret find themselves battling against the unknown. Unfamiliar revolves around their pursuit for survival as the former sleuths conceal themselves from assassins, dangerous Russian agents, the BND, ex-romantic interests, and an army of people they once wronged, while trying to keep their own marriage afloat.

Queen of Chess (Rory Kennedy, 2026)

Undoubtedly one of the most awaited offerings of 2026, Queen of Chess is an upcoming Netflix documentary, scheduled to drop this Friday, which chronicles the rise of 12-year-old Hungarian prodigy and chess grandmaster, Judit Polgár. Polgár entered the world of chess, then pre-dominated primarily by men, determined to become the top player of her generation.

Constructed with in-depth interviews with Polgár, who is now in her 40s, Queen of Chess also features conversations with her family, Garry Kasparov, and other chess champions of her time, who help trace her ascent in the sport. So, if you’re a sports fanatic and even better, a chess lover, you cannot miss out on this for the world for one of the most influential accounts in sports history.  

Salvador (Daniel Calparsoro, 2026)

Lastly, a pulse-pounding, new action-drama series, Salvador, is also coming to Netflix this week on February 6th. The upcoming series stars Luis Tosar as Salvador, a father and emergency medical technician, resolute to leave his alcohol addiction and make amends for the mistakes he made with his family.

But when he discovers that his daughter, Milena, actively participates in an ultra group called the White Souls, Salvador makes it his mission to uncover the truth and find out what led her there. It’s definitely not long before Salvador is caught up in the cobweb of violence and chaos in his daughter’s world in his pursuit of answers, but the question he simply cannot ignore is: how far is he willing to go to see the end of it?
