Five Netflix releases to keep an eye out for this week

Feels a bit wild, doesn’t it? How are we already staring at the last week of January, because this month went by faster than anyone was prepared for? However, Netflix still managed to squeeze in some really good stuff for its viewers.

The year started with us grieving the end of Stranger Things, but Netflix made up for it by giving us a behind-the-scenes documentary. We also got to see Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s action in The Rip. What felt almost unreal was the Alex Honnold documentary that made your heart race and your palms sweat like you were the one on the cliff.

But just because the month is nearly done does not mean Netflix is slowing down; in fact, this last stretch looks like it was planned specifically to keep you from getting bored for even a second, with a bunch of new drops and some very, very loud returns.

So if you are trying to figure out what to stream before the calendar flips, these are five releases you absolutely cannot miss.

Five releases to keep an eye out for this week

Megan 2.0 (2025) (Netflix release: January 26th)

Ooh, she is back, and she is more terrifying this time, but not in a glitchy way, but in that updated and completely aware way that only makes her more dangerous. Megan 2.0 takes the original doll-gone-rogue premise and modifies it into a smarter sequel space, where the AI is adapting faster than the people trying to stop her. The horror feels more pointed this time, not because it’s bigger or looks more dangerous, but because you know she is learning… not just how to survive, but how to control.

Allison Williams returns, and while most of the plot is under wraps, the tone is way more focused on the emotional manipulation that made the first film so scary. And if you thought the first Megan was bad news, this one might actually enjoy watching you squirm.

Mike Epps: Delusional (January 27th)

Mike Epps has that rare ability to sound like he is just talking trash with friends while delivering the exact type of hilarious nonsense that hits a little too close to home. Delusional finds him in full observational mode, dragging everything from fame to fragile egos to the way people pretend to have it together when they are clearly just winging it. It is full of the energy you want from a late-night special when your brain wants something fun.

This is Epps at his most confident, and he is not just performing… This time, he is vibing, and it makes the whole thing feel more reckless, but in a good way. The Special drops this week as a Netflix Original, and if you are looking for a reset button after all the heavy dramas, this is your sign to laugh at the delusion.

Take That (January 26th)

If you are even vaguely familiar with early boyband culture, then this new doc on Take That will hit the nostalgia-inducing part of your brain, and not in a surface-level way, so press play at your own risk. It is about the legendary British boy band that gave the world Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, and Robbie Williams. These guys owned the ’90s, exploded in the 2000s, and managed to never fully disappear, no matter how many times they broke up, made up, and went back on tour.

You get raw archive clips and newer tour footage, along with the conversations that do not feel like PR. It looks at what fame did to them while the band survived multiple exits, and why the reunion years meant more than anyone expected. Whether you grew up blasting Back for Good or just know Robbie from the solo chaos that followed, this documentary gives you the full picture. It drops this week as a Netflix Original, don’t miss it.

Bridgerton: Season 4 – Volume 1 (January 29th)

We have officially reached the point where every new season of Bridgerton appears as a global event, and it has every right to be. We now have the first volume of season four to look forward to, which is coming in ready to take over your life again. The leads have changed, and yes, the yearning is back with a vengeance, because this show knows exactly how to make one lingering glance ruin your entire week… in a very, very British way.

Volume one drops this week and sets up the entire arc for the new season, which means you will absolutely binge it in one sitting, and then you will be served a month for trying to predict what comes next. If you have been holding off on rewatching the last season, now is your final warning to catch up because once this hits, spoilers will be everywhere, and you will not be spared.

Gangnam Project: Season 1 (January 30th)

Gangnam Project has the potential to be one of those dramas that start low-key and then end up dominating everyone’s recommendations by the time the third episode hits. Set inside a K-pop training academy, it follows a girl who moves into this hyper-competitive space and quickly realises that talent is just one of many things she will need to survive. A harsh reality check, isn’t it? Gangnam Project has something for everyone. It has performance for those who are in for that. But it also shows what having an ambition and pressure mean.

Also, it is not a glamorised K-pop fantasy. It shows you what having fame actually is because here, friendships will get tested, and you’ll face mentors who are not always helpful. It premieres this week on Netflix and might just be the surprise hit that keeps growing if people give it even half a chance.
