Every month Netflix loses and gains titles that have entertained the masses for as long as they existed. However, at times in the middle of this constant content shuffling, some of the big hits end up having to leave the streamer based on the end of their license. If you are one short of a weekend watchlist, catch these top movies for one last time before they bid adieu to Netflix. 

There are always a lot of titles leaving Netflix, and this month sees some of the biggest hits filing out of the streaming platform. There are titles from George Clooney, a Jessica Chastain masterclass, one of the scariest movies of the decade and a masterful performance from Benedict Cumberbatch.

5. Hail, Caesar! (2016)

Hail, Caesar! Is one of George Clooney’s classics. Alongside him, a star-studded cast makes this movie an absolute must-watch. Some of them namely Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, Scarlett Johansson, and Jonah Hill, amongst many others. Set in the early 1950s, Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin) as the go-to problem solver on sets at Capitol Pictures faces the newest challenge Hail, Caesar!

Whilst a costume rehearsal Baird Whitlock (George Clooney) gets kidnapped and the studio is hit with a whopping amount of $100,000. If the studio fails to pay the amount, the movie star is rest assured in danger. You might also catch your favourite Magic Mike character, Channing Tatum in there.

4. Hush (2016)

Starring the extremely talented Kate Siegel as Maddie. Both the former mentioned were auteurs of the story. The dark plot follows the story of the protagonist, Maddie, who is a deaf and mute writer. She left city life to escape the fast-paced lifestyle and resorted to the woods to continue writing her novel which she was about to finish.

One evening she finds herself becoming prey to a sadistic killer who likes to torture his victims or in other words ‘likes the chase.’ Find out how this one night unravels and whether Maddie ever made out of this maze. Catch the movie before it leaves on the streamer here.

3. Molly’s Game (2014)

Based on a true story, Molly’s Game revolves around the life of Olympic-level skier Molly Bloom (played by Jessica Chastain) who was responsible for running an underground elitist poker racket. She was the hostess of the most exclusive poker club in the world. However, when the Russian mafia gets involved, things get more complicated for Molly. She finds herself at the very centre of an FBI investigation.

However, with the help of her lawyer, she manages to keep her and her players’ names in the clear. Other renowned names in the cast include Idris Alba, Jeremy Strong, Joe Keery, and Michael Cera, amongst many others. 2. The Imitation Game (2014)

One of Benedict Cumberbatch’s classics. Other stars include Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Charles Dance, and Mark Strong amongst many others. The story revolves around the life of Alan Turing played by Cumberbatch himself and highlights the real incidents that took place. Placed in the year 1939, the story transpires when the British Intelligence agency M16 recruited one of Cambridge’s true mathematical treasures, Alan Turing. His job? To crack the Nazi codes.

The only man who was capable of leading a team to steer the nation towards victory. The very same man who got prisoned for coming out as gay. With incredible performances and a simply riveting plot, this historical drama will surely sweep you off your feet. The Imitation Game won an Oscar for ‘Best Adapted’ screenplay.

1. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-2003) 

One of the classics in the world of fictional media. The Lord of the Rings trilogy is closely etched in the minds of every millennial growing up. From being vividly ahead of its time in terms of CGI to an incredible cast and screenplay writers.

The saga of a group of heroes who begin on a journey to save the world from evil. Death and immortality are big motifs throughout the films focusing on human beings’ undying desire to escape it. A must-watch for all fantasy lovers out there.
