The first trailer for 'The Fall of the House of Usher' has been released

Netflix have released the first trailer for The Fall of the House of Usher, the new show from The Haunting of Hill House creator Mike Flanagan. It will be available on October 12th, just ahead of the Halloween season across the world.

The new series will star Mark Hamill and features eight episodes based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe. The trailer sees Hamill’s character (“a character surprisingly at home in the shadows”) come into contact with some of Flangan’s regulars.

Several of Flanagan’s frequent players make an appearance in the trailer, including Carla Gugino, T’Nia Miller, Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli and Samantha Sloyan.

Bruce Greenwood and Mary McDonnell feature as the twin siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher, respectively.

The synopsis for the show reads, “Ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.”

Flanagan had written on Twitter about his new show, “This miniseries is a modern remix of some of the most iconic works of Edgar Allan Poe. To tell this epic tale of greed, horror, and tragedy, we have assembled the largest ensemble cast in the history of Intrepid Pictures.”
