The first six minutes of ‘Wednesday’ season two are available online

The first six minutes of the Wednesday season two premiere episode have appeared online after a Netflix live event.

“It’s been an eventful summer,” Wednesday’s bitingly cold drawl opens the clip. “I’m tied up in a serial killer’s basement,” she continues. “Who said nightmares don’t come true?”

The scene then cuts to six weeks earlier, where Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega, spends time mastering her psychic ability, setting her sights on her childhood obsession: locating a local serial killer, known as the Kansas City Scalper.

After a scene that has been previously released, which sees Wednesday try to sneak dozens of weapons through airport security on her way to Kansas to track down the serial killer, she arrives at her desired destination. She attempts to tase the killer, but endures one of her notorious visions at the same time; the fumble leads to her capture in the basement, marking a full circle moment.

The scalper ties her to a chair around a table of eerie dolls and wheels over a tray of torture devices. “I made you a gift,” he mumbles, revealing a Wednesday lookalike doll. The teenager uses her psychic abilities, along with the help of her confidant Hand, to defeat the villain.

The clip ends with Ortega smirking happily at the camera, brandishing a knife towards the Scalper. “Now, let’s play dolls,” she laughs.

When talking about the series back in 2024, Ortega mused: “I think everything’s bigger. It’s a lot more action-packed. Each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie, which is nice.” Ortega has previously spoken out about qualms with her character, which she considers underdeveloped.

Netflix has revealed that the new series of Wednesday will launch in two parts. The first four episodes will be released on August 6th, and the final four will be released on September 3rd, exclusively on Netflix.
