The forthcoming Netflix documentary about the life and death of the British presenter Jill Dando has just had its first look trailer and images released, giving murder series fans a closer look at what they can expect.

The crime documentary series was first announced at the beginning of this year and will be produced by the production company Empress Films. Marcus Plowright of Fred and Rose West: Reopened will direct the series.

Meanwhile, Emma Cooper, the producer behind The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes, will executive produce. The series is called Who Killed Jill Dando? and the new trailer can be viewed at the bottom of this page.

The official synopsis for Who Killed Jill Dando? reads, “British broadcasting legend, Jill Dando, was killed by a single bullet on her doorstep in 1999 in broad daylight. Despite one of the biggest homicide investigations in British history, the murder remains unsolved.”

It continues, “This three-part series takes viewers through the twists and the turns of a true crime mystery as her family, friends, journalists, investigators and lawyers wrestle with the question: Who Killed Jill Dando?”

The murder of Dando had previously been covered in the BBC documentary The Murder of Jill Dando and ITV’s Jill Dando: The 20 Year Mystery. The Netflix series will be released on September 26th.
