Leaving Soon

Every film and series leaving Netflix in June 2024

As we wave goodbye to a spring that brought us sunshine and showers, it is time to embrace the sun and the longest days of the year. While few of us will lament the arrival of June, it is also a time for goodbyes. Not only are we waving adios to spring, but Netflix users must now part with several beloved titles in the relentless cycle of content.

Some seasonal favourites are among the most notable titles set to enter the guillotine in June. While slasher movies are a yearly ritual for Halloween observers around the world, others enjoy sitting down to a white knuckle ride with Freddy Krueger on any and every day of the week. Sadly, such fans only have about a month until all five Elm Street movies are removed from the platform.

Similarly, those hoping to watch the family-friendly Hotel Transylvania movies this Halloween will have to look elsewhere. Following a flourish of viewership last Christmas, Netflix has also decided to take the festive favourite The Holiday down on June 30th. While it is unlikely the movie will return to the platform for Christmas 2024, Netflix will undoubtedly make room for more holiday season classics.

Meanwhile, Quentin Tarantino fans have a month left to watch the two Kill Bill volumes, which I shall refrain from calling movies. The meticulous filmmaker has made it clear in recent interviews that he regards Kill Bill as one movie split into two halves since that’s how he initially shot the epic. This way, he has space for one final film to meet his ten-movie rule.

Tarantino fans mustn’t despair, however. The director’s latest movie, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, will remain on the platform and given his popularity, his other titles are sure to return in due course.

Several series are leaving the platform in June, too. Petrol heads have just under a fortnight to watch episodes from seasons 27-28 of Top Gear, and crime thriller fans need to get cracking if they’re to tackle the first 11 seasons of NCIS, which leave Netflix on June 29th.
