Every film and series coming to Netflix this week: July 2024

As a number of important election campaigns are either being completed or heading towards the crucial day, weary voters are returning to their homes to turn away from the political barrage and thankfully Netflix are brining a bunch of new films and series to the service to bring joy to tired eyes and minds.

Netflix are kicking off this week with the streaming availability of Bad Boys, starring Martin Lawrence and Will Smith, the film that kicked off the franchise. The first film was directed by Michael Bay in his directorial debut and saw the arrival of two Miami cops who must look into the stealing of $100million worth of heroin whilst truly protecting a murder witness from an international drug dealer.

In addition, Netflix are making available the 2003 sequel film, also directed by Michael Bay, with Smith and Lawrence’s character again taking care of business in Miami. The most recent Bad Boys film, Ride or Die, was released in the cinema in May this year, so Netflix are trying to catch on to the wave of popularity of the franchise.

From there, Netflix are streaming The Boyfriend, a queer dating reality show set in Japan. Executive producer Dai Ota, has said in a statement on the show, “We started out wanting to highlight the young men’s friendships and personalities. Our focus wasn’t just on romance but also on spending time together and experiencing personal growth.”

Stand-up comedy is getting a new special on Netflix, too, one from the acclaimed Hannah Berner. We Ride at Dawn will see Berner discuss romance, dating and sex in what promises to be a scandalous and raunchy comedy moment from the American stand-up.

Series-wise, Netflix are bringing season two of Eva Lasting, starring Santiago Alarcón, Verónica Orozco and Cecilia Navia, to the platform. Fans of the show will be delighted to learn of the second batch of episodes arriving for the show, and the tagline for newcomers reads, “A mysterious teen girl arrives at an all-boys school in 1970s Colombia, breaking stereotypes, rules… and a few hearts.”

Elsewhere, the sports series Reciever, which focuses on the 2023 season of NFL receivers Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Amon-Ra St. Brown, will arrive on July 10th, meaning that football nuts will get their latest fix.

In additional, sugarheads will get the next tasty dose with Sugar Rush: The Baking Point. Finally, the next load of Netflix release will be completed by Lobola Man, Exploding Kittens, The Champion, Blame the Game, Vikings: Valhalla, Vanished into the Night, Another Self and Wild Wild Punjab, showing the widespread of entertainment treats the service is providing.
