'Fast and Furious' franchise screeches into the Netflix top 10

Having been added to the Netflix database, the Fast and Furious franchise has screeched its way to multiple of the top spots in the streaming service’s top 10.

The first five movies in the franchise, The Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, the confusingly titled Fast & Furious, and Fast Five all landed on Netflix on August 1st, and just a week later have been crashing the party of the streaming service’s leaderboards.

The fifth film in the franchise, Fast Five, is the one that has reached the greatest heights in the Netflix leaderboard, gaining the sixth spot ahead of its franchise competitors. Starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Gal Gadot, Dwayne Johnson and Michelle Rodriguez, Fast Five is often referred to as the best in the series, and the first to shift the gears of the franchise to a more action-led future.

Elsewhere, the first film in the series, The Fast and the Furious, takes the number nine spot, with the car-centred movies featuring fresh-faced versions of many of the aforementioned actors.

The latest movie in the series, Fast X, made $719.1million at the box office and starred the likes of Jason Momoa, Brie Larson and Alan Ritchson.

Elsewhere in the top ten, the 2020 film Fatale took the top spot, starring Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy.
