Fans of 'Sex Education' notice season four's recurring detail

Netflix has unveiled the final season of Sex Education‘s first-look photos, and fans quickly noticed a recurrent detail about Otis Milburn’s character.

The hit show, starring Asa Butterfield as Otis, will be returning on September 22nd for its fourth and final season.

As the awkward son of sex therapist Jean (Gillian Anderson), Otis began doling out sex advice to his classmates, building up a clientele with the help of friend Maeve (Emma Mackey). But the show’s finale hinted change was coming in the upcoming season, as Moordale High School shut down, forcing its students to go to a new sixth-form college.

The first-look photos released by Netflix on Twitter show Otis smiling next to best friend Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) outside their new campus. But fans quickly twigged not everything had changed, as Otis was still wearing his trademark pink, red, and blue jacket – the same one he’s sported since the first season.

More photos show Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood) smiling, and clutching a pair of jeans that were pivotal to her sexual assault storyline last season. Jean is seen with her newborn baby, and Maeve can be seen studying while she attends Wallace University in the USA.

Eagle-eyed fans will notice she’s surrounded by books, one of which is ‘The Brontë Sisters’ – a potential nod to Mackey’s role as Emily Brontë in 2022’s Emily.

Sex Education season four lands on Netflix on September 22.
