‘Family Guy’ is set to leave Netflix in January 2022

Created by Seth MacFarlane and voiced by him, alongside a huge ensemble cast, the famous adult comedy cartoon Family Guy loves pushing buttons. With dark humour, offensive gags and recurring wacky characters, the show has garnered a huge cult-like following and revels in its reputation of being borderline offensive with jokes that often reference sex, drugs, incest, bestiality, sexual crimes, politics and more.

Set in Quahog, the lead protagonist Peter Griffin is a certified nutcase. He lives with his family, comprising his wife Lois, an overall inefficient mother, his dunderhead of a son, Chris, his daughter Meg who is subjected to constant bullying, his conniving little toddler Stewie and a talking dog named Brian who is, surprisingly, the voice of reason (on certain occasions).

Griffin has a weird set of friends, too, including the perverted nymphomaniac Quagmire, who, in all, contribute to the variety of hilarious storylines within the show.

First airing in 1999, this Emmy award-winning show has had a successful twenty-season run and has been renewed for a 21st season. While Family Guy is no longer streaming on Netflix US (removed in 2017 and 2018) or the UK, it is still available in Canada, Asia and some other regions of Europe, streaming in a total of 23 countries.

However, the show is set to leave the streaming service, besides a slew of other fan favourites, including New Girl, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, Prison Break and more. Here is everything that we know about its departure:

When is Family Guy leaving Netflix?

Family Guy is set to depart from Netflix globally on January 1st, 2022.

What countries are streaming Family Guy on Netflix?

All the regions streaming Family Guy do not have all the seasons. Canada, for example, is streaming only seasons 12 to 18. These are the countries that are still streaming the adult comedy show:

  • Italy
  • Belgium
  • Israel
  • Germany
  • Hong Kong
  • Portugal
  • France
  • Thailand
  • Switzerland
  • Philippines
  • Singapore
  • The Netherlands
  • Czech Republic
  • Poland

Where can we stream Family Guy after it leaves Netflix?

The 20th Television studios have recently been acquired by Disney which makes the show a Disney property and justifies its subsequent departure from Disney’s rival platform, Netflix. Family Guy will be streaming on Disney+ Star with most regions streaming all 20 seasons. In the United States, however, the show will be a part of Hulu.
