Everything you need to know about the ‘Victorious’ spin-off: ‘Hollywood Arts’
Netflix and nostalgia truly make a great pair! Amidst the season of YA showers, the streaming giant just decided to turn back time with a special spin-off of Victorious, titled Hollywood Arts, and fans cannot keep calm.
The beloved Nickelodeon sitcom, which concluded in 2013, will get a second life on Netflix with the upcoming offshoot as fans return for a nostalgia trip in the halls of Hollywood Arts High School.
To make things spicier, Daniella Monet, who starred as Trina Vega in Victorious, reprises her role as a struggling, down-on-her-luck actor, since she still hasn’t gotten her big break. Speaking to Tudum about her return, Monet says, “Coming back as Trina alongside such a dynamic, powerful cast of newcomers is something I feel very lucky and grateful to do”.
While Monet seized the opportunity to open up about her “life-changing” Victorious stint, the audience’s lives are also about to change for the better with Hollywood Arts coming soon!
What is the plot?
Hollywood Arts is an upcoming spin-off of Nickelodeon’s Victorious, where Trina returns to her alma mater, Hollywood Arts High School, as a substitute teacher to inspire and teach a new generation of performing arts students.
In a conversation with Tudum, actor Daniella Monet shared, “Victorious was in a lot of ways life-changing for all of us. Our cast is forever bonded by that experience, and to think that I have an opportunity to steward anything close to that is a feeling I can’t begin to describe.”
Who is in the cast and crew?
Daniella Monet is surely back for more, and joining her are Alyssa Miles, Emmy Liu-Wang, Peyton Jackson, Erika Swayze, Martin Kamm, Lexi Rivera, Kira Kosarin, Sofie Dossi, Taylen Biggs, and Rex. According to Netflix, Yvette Nicole Brown, most famous as Community‘s Shirley, will appear as a guest in the sitcom.
In addition to starring, Monet is an executive producer on the series alongside Jake Farrow and Samantha Martin, who also serve as showrunners and writers. Jonathan Judge takes the director’s chair for the pilot episode and executive produces the series. Paramount Television Studios is producing the show for Netflix.
