The Korean slate of productions is not slowing down its streak for 2025 just yet, as a new superhero series from Netflix, Cashero, has grabbed the eye.

What is it about?
Cashero revolves around a humble civil worker, Kang Sang-ung, whose dreams are rather simple: to own a house he can call home. But his aspirations take a downturn when he unexpectedly gains superpowers, which are surprisingly directly connected with the cash he has with him, meaning that every time he throws a punch, his bank balance declines. As a result, Kang and his longtime girlfriend, Kim Min-suk, have to keep an eye out for the bigger picture, cutting short on the number of heroics that burn through his paycheck.
It turns out that Sang-ung is not the only one with super-abilities when lawyer Byeon Ho-in, the head of the Korean Coalition of Superheroes, approaches him. Unlike Kang, Byeon’s powers are intertwined with drinking. The latter, however, sees Sang-ung as a potential supporter in his fight against the enigmatic Criminal Association, whose only mission is to hunt and kill superheroes. Ultimately, they end up joining forces with Bang Eun-mi, a pastry-loving telekinetic whose superpowers are connected with her calorie intake, in order to fight the Criminal Association and restore their daily peace.
