Everything you need to know about the cross-border serial-killer thriller, ‘The Blue Road’
Netflix’s November lineup is coming to life with back-to-back high-profile releases, and fans are about to add the highly anticipated cross-border serial-killer thriller Blue Road to the queue.
The gritty crime thriller was one of the five Netflix titles that premiered at the 31st Busan International Film Festival earlier this year, where three episodes were shown.
Directed by Han Jun Hee and produced by the South Korean studio Shortcake, the upcoming mystery series is undoubtedly one of the biggest partnerships fans have seen in a while.
So, if you want to know more about what’s to come, here’s a comprehensive rundown of everything known so far about Blue Road.
What is the plot?
Blue Road is an international crime thriller about two sleuths as they investigate consecutive cross-border murders, where the killer leaves the victims’ bodies brutally twisted alongside a cryptic dying message. The series opens in Tokyo, where a disfigured body is discovered with a blood-soaked text written in Korean. Not long after, a similar pattern is found in a murder case in Korea, where the message is written in Japanese.
As body bags mount up similarly, law enforcement realises that they’re in pursuit of a serial killer who is on the move across countries, calling for a joint investigation from Seoul and Tokyo, among others.
Who is in the cast?
The lead cast of Blue Road, the upcoming serial-killer thriller, stars Eita Nagayama as Inose and Son Suk Ku as Kang Chung Do. Also appearing in the series are Kim Shin Rok, whose Netflix credits include Tastefully Yours, Sweet Home, and Queen of Tears; Choi Sung Eun, who starred in Netflix’s The Sound of Magic; and Jung Jae Young, who has yet to star in a Netflix K-drama.
