Everything you need to know about ‘The Boyfriend’ season two, coming up next in January
Netflix prefers to stay a step ahead when it comes to the holiday season. So, just in time for the post-festive blues, it’s planning to bring back The Boyfriend for a second outing.
The unique Japanese reality series, which became the first to explore queer romance in the country, is officially returning for a second season. But the best part? The day is not far away.
In the forthcoming season, a new group of queer men will embark on a journey to find love and friendship as new sparks fly and newer bonds forge. “Being the first same-sex romance reality show in Japan, we paid careful attention to ensure that the story was an authentic portrayal of these relationships,” said Dai Ota, executive producer at Netflix.
“In season one, we showed not just romance, but their friendship and meaningful connections with one another.” Hence, heading towards the second season, The Boyfriend aims to recapture that essence. As for the rest of the details, here’s everything you need to know about the second season of the hit reality series, scheduled to arrive in January.
What to expect from the second season?

Who are the hosts?
The first season hosts, including Megumi, Chiaki Horan, Thelma Aoyama, Durian Lollobrigida, and Yoshimi Tokui, are set to return in The Boyfriend season two.
