Everything you need to know about ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2
When Nobody Wants This first landed on Netflix, it surprised everyone with the type of charming mess it carried with it. Kristen Bell’s Joanne, an agnostic podcast host, fell for Adam Brody’s unconventional rabbi, Noah… And somehow their romance made arguing about faith, family, and identity feel touching and very real.
The first season wasn’t just about will-they-won’t-they; it showed how exhausting and exhilarating love can be when two people come from completely different worlds. Viewers watched Joanne and Noah wrestle with their differences while still managing to share kisses over ice cream and spark chemistry that even their families couldn’t ignore.
By the finale, their connection had beaten the odds, but the show made one thing pretty clear: happily ever after doesn’t come without new challenges. And that’s exactly where season two picks up.
Now Netflix has dropped the trailer, and it’s time to see what happens when falling in love turns into figuring out how to stay there.
What is the plot?
Season two of Nobody Wants This finds Joanne and Noah in the honeymoon glow of their relationship. They are disgustingly cute together (as they should) and look like the kind of couple that makes single friends roll their eyes. But beneath all the sweetness, real questions are simmering. Can Joanne, who is agnostic, really adjust to life with a rabbi? Will Noah’s traditions and Joanne’s independence ever fit together?
The trailer teases plenty of comic friction: from blending their families and friend groups to having tough conversations about faith and identity. And yes, it looks like Joanne’s line about “doing the interfaith thing” might not land the way she hopes. So you now know that this season isn’t just about falling in love against the odds. It is about staying together when those odds keep stacking up.
Who is in the cast and crew?
Kristen Bell and Adam Brody return as Joanne and Noah, anchoring the series with their chemistry. Justine Lupe is back as Joanne’s sister, Morgan, with Timothy Simons as Noah’s brother, Sasha and Jackie Tohn as his sister-in-law, Esther. The rest of the cast includes Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Sherry Cola, and Shiloh Berman.
But showmakers decided to bring in a bunch of fan-favourite actors in this season, and you’ll be excited to see these new faces. Leighton Meester is joining as Abby, Joanne’s old nemesis from middle school, while Seth Rogen steps in as Rabbi Neil. Both these actors are promising enough to shake things up with plenty of humour and drama. Guest stars also include Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky, Arian Moayed, and Kate Berlant.
Is there a trailer available?
Yes, and it’s a fun one. Netflix has just released the season two trailer, giving us a first look at Joanne and Noah as a “we”. There is plenty of kissing, plenty of awkward family dinners, and a few hints that their romance isn’t as picture-perfect as it seems. The addition of Leighton Meester and Seth Rogen looks like it’ll add even more chaos to the mix.
When does Nobody Wants This release on Netflix?
All ten episodes of Nobody Wants This season two will premiere on October 23 on Netflix. So get ready to face a whole new mess of bonds with Joanne and Noah and see where it goes.
