Netflix recently unveiled the first look and teaser trailer for its upcoming limited series, Griselda, starring Sofía Vergara as the notorious Colombian drug queenpin Griselda Blanco. 

The series, a brainchild of writer-producer Eric Newman and director Andrés Baiz, both known for their work on Narcos, promises a gripping narrative chronicling Blanco’s rise to infamy.

This isn’t the first time Griselda Blanco’s story has been brought to the screen, with previous adaptations including the 2018 Lifetime biopic Cocaine Godmother and the 2006 documentary Cocaine Cowboys.

Griselda has been in development for eight years under the guidance of Vergara and executive producer Luis Balaguer in collaboration with Latin World Entertainment.
