Everything we know about Mike Flanagan’s ‘The Midnight Club’

The Haunting of the Hill House director, Mike Flanagan, has been a longtime Christopher Pike fan. When he finally got the opportunity to adapt Pike’s novel The Midnight Club into a Netflix series, the filmmaker did not let go of the opportunity.

On his Twitter, Flanagan wrote, “I began brainstorming an adaptation of The Midnight Club as a teenager, so this is a dream come true. It’s an honour to introduce a new generation of young horror fans to the world of Christopher Pike. Oh, and for you fellow Pike fans out there… we will be incorporating a lot of his books into the series. So whatever your favourite Pike book is, there’s a chance it’ll be part of the show.”

With a script approved by the master of horror, Stephen King himself, Flanagan has promised a “relentlessly dark and cynical” series.
He said, “This one was a really fun piece of material for me because I get to be like, ‘Oh you want a dark ending? Cool, get ready.’”

The show has dropped a spookily teaser with a sinister backdrop where the chant reads, “To those before. To those after. To us now. And to those beyond. Seen or unseen. Here but not here.”
