Everything we know about ‘Kaos’

Netflix’s upcoming series Kaos brings a modern twist to Greek mythology, blending modern-day power dynamics and gender politics with ancient lore.

Created by Charlie Covell, known for her work on The End of the F***ing World, the show promises to breathe new life into age-old tales of horny gods and wrathful goddesses and vice versa. Against the backdrop of scheming Greek gods, Kaos explores the fates of six ordinary individuals tied to an ancient prophecy.

With its talented cast, entertaining plot, and interesting creative vision, this upcoming Netflix series has our hopes up. As excitement mounts for its summer 2024 release, let’s delve into what makes this series so captivating.

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming Netflix fantasy series Kaos.

What is Kaos about?

Created by Charlie Covell and directed by Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo, Kaos revolves around the existential crisis of Zeus, the king of the gods, who becomes consumed by paranoia upon discovering a wrinkle on his forehead. This seemingly innocuous blemish triggers his fear of impending doom, setting off a chain of events that embroils both divine and mortal realms.

As Zeus grapples with his insecurities, six ordinary individuals foretold in an ancient prophecy find themselves thrust into a world of divine intrigue and cosmic significance. Together, they must navigate the machinations of vengeful deities while unravelling the secrets of an ancient prophecy that threatens to upend existence.

Who is in the cast of Kaos?

The stellar ensemble cast of Kaos features a mix of seasoned veterans and rising stars. Jeff Goldblum leads the pack as the neurotic Zeus in a role that was originally supposed to be portrayed by Hugh Grant. Goldblum stepped in when Grant had scheduling conflicts.

Ozark actor Janet McTeer will play the formidable Hera, and Cliff Curtis will be the carefree Poseidon. Other notable cast members include David Thewlis as the enigmatic Hades, Killian Scott as the troubled Orpheus, Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus, and Debi Mazar in a reimagined portrayal of the iconic Medusa. British singer Billie Piper will also be part of the cast.

While eager fans await its arrival, Kaos is slated for release in the summer of 2024. With filming locations spanning from London to Spain, the series has undergone an extensive production process. As we await an official premiere date announcement, anticipation continues to mount for this genre-bending exploration of power and destiny between gods and mortals.
