Hit Man follows the journey of a seemingly ordinary college professor, Gary Johnson, who unexpectedly discovers a talent for impersonating a hitman. Johnson was a real person who did pretend to be a contract killer, even though the incidents in the film are fictionalised.
Portrayed by Powell, Johnson’s life takes a dramatic turn when he meets Madison (played by Arjona), a prospective client who ignites a whirlwind romance. However, as their relationship blossoms, layers of deceit unravel, plunging them into a world of deception and danger.
