Everything to know about ‘Untamed’ season two
Viewers initially didn’t think much of the Untamed highlights when they first popped up on the Netflix homepage. Perhaps, just another Netflix release. But once they hit play, recoiling became a challenge. And honestly, even Netflix gets it. Despite being originally conceived as a limited series, the streaming giant didn’t waste much time renewing it for a follow-up season.
Untamed wrapped with Eric Bana’s character, Kyle Turner, passing on the baton to Naya Vasquez, and leaving Yosemite for good. But the question marks surrounding where he’s headed next was enough to convince fans that there was more to his story.
On July 29th, Netflix officially renewed the crime thriller for a second season. In a statement to Tudum, Bana said, “I am absolutely thrilled that we get the chance to bring another season of Untamed to life.” While he showered gratitude upon the fans and his crew who worked very hard to materialise the Netflix series, he was just as impatient as the fans for the return.
But now that Untamed is coming back for more, what will be the plot of season two?
What would Untamed season two be about?
The first season had Kyle Turner investigating the mysterious death of Lucy Cook, who plummeted from the top of the infamous El Capitan in Yosemite National Park in the first episode. While initially her death was presumably associated with the drug ring running in the park, the last episode ultimately revealed Chief Paul Souter as the accidental murderer.
With Souter dead and Kyle leaving the town, Untamed season two will pick up with the same protagonist, albeit in a different national park with a fresh new mystery. Co-creator Elle Smith established that the park is the “main character” of the Netflix series. So, moving forward, they want to keep that thread weaving. “Whichever park we choose will be a character and it will kind of play a role in Turner’s emotional frame of mind,” she explained.
With the locale changed, Turner’s role in season two will be somewhat similar to rookie Naya Vasquez. Since he’s no longer home, expect some discomfort and hiccups while Turner navigates his way. There’s no prior knowledge. In fact, Turner is as alien in the land as the viewers this time.
Who is in the cast?
As of now, only Eric Bana’s return is confirmed in season two. The rest are yet to be announced. While the creators are trying to figure out the returning characters, it remains to be seen whether the direction of their story offers that opportunity. So, stay tuned.

Currently, there’s no trailer available considering it has barely been a week since its renewal. But with time, fans can expect some more scoops.
