Every thriller movie and series coming to Netflix in April
Netflix has undoubtedly put some of the grittiest thrillers on the map in the last few years, and in 2026, it’s doubling down on its catalogue with a handful more coming your way this April.
To be fair, Netflix has always had a soft corner for pulse-pounding thrillers, which is why the streaming powerhouse even chose to kick-start the year with an intense Harlan Coben adaptation, Run Away.
Since then, the streaming mogul has churned out quite a few high-profile titles, with several more on the way this month.
So, if you’re a sucker for pulse-pounding edge-of-your-seat stuff, here is a list of every thriller movie and series coming to Netflix this April.
Every thriller movie and series coming to Netflix in April
Big Mistakes (Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott, 2026)
It’s not every day that Netflix decides to bless us with a comedy thriller. But if its streaming history has taught us anything, they are always a smash hit with the audience. So, to kick off the thrilling marathon this April, Netflix has lined up Dan Levy’s highly anticipated comedy crime drama, Big Mistakes, to do the deed, premiering globally on April 9th.
Big Mistakes promises to bring a wild, dysfunctional family right to the forefront, focusing on two incredibly incapable siblings, who find themselves navigating the dangers of the world of organised crime after getting blackmailed into it. The upcoming series marks the first partnership from Levy’s overall deal with Netflix, opening a new chapter for his Not a Real Production Company.
BEEF (Lee Sung Jin, 2024-Present)
In other news, BEEF is returning to Netflix on April 16th with a new set of characters, premise, and, of course, fresh beef. Get ready to air your grievances because this time, the dispute, drama, and chaos will be twice as much. The second season of the hit anthology series follows a Gen Z couple, Ashley and Austin, both lower-level staff at the country club, who accidentally witness a concerning fight between their boss and his wife.
For the longest time, both couples have been buttering up the club’s billionaire owner, vying for Chairwoman Park’s approval. But with Ashley and Austin equipped with a new weapon at their disposal, it remains to be seen what turn the second season of BEEF takes. At the heart of the story are relationships, each more dynamic than the other, but how they evolve is the question of the hour.
Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 (Eric Robles, 2026)

The animated series, due for premiere on April 23rd, follows the characters we already know and love, albeit with a twist. Set in 1985, in the freezing winter of Hawkins, the Netflix series follows our fan-favourite heroes as they head towards an epic adventure.
In Tales from ’85, the original Hawkins gang confront new monsters as they navigate a paranormal activity plaguing the town. The idea dawned upon the Duffer Brothers when they were brainstorming other concepts to explore in the Hawkins universe. So, Stranger Things fans, the floodgates of a familiar thrill will soon open, and you need to be here to witness it all unravel.

From comedy to sci-fi, Netflix has quite a variety of thrillers awaiting this April. Set in the all-consuming wilderness of Australian landscapes, the upcoming Netflix movie tells the story of a grieving woman who escapes into the wild to seek solace.
As a rock climber, she’s not exactly afraid of the untamed wild. In fact, as an adrenaline junkie, solo wilderness is exactly what she loves the most. But what follows next is a deadly cat-and-mouse chase as a serial killer makes her a prey, resulting in a high-stakes, terrifying hunt where death is simply a knock away. Apex primarily follows her struggle to survive against a ruthless predator out on the loose. If you haven’t marked your calendars already, do it now!
