Every series and film coming to Netflix this week: June 2023

The highly anticipated third season of The Witcher (Volume 1) arrives this week on Netflix. This is Henry Cavill’s last appearance as Geralt of Rivia. But there’s more fun awaiting on Netflix in the last week of June.

Kicking off the week on June 26th is The Imitation Game. This critically acclaimed 2014 film tells the true story of Alan Turing, a brilliant mathematician who played a crucial role in cracking Nazi Germany’s Enigma code during World War II.

On June 28th, prepare for some adrenaline-fueled action with Muscles & Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators. This documentary delves into the behind-the-scenes world of the popular ’90s TV show American Gladiators revealing the intense training, rivalries, and the show got cancelled before it even began.

Also arriving on June 28th is the 13th season of Hoarders. Also coming on the 28th is the documentary Eldorado: Everything the Nazis Hate. The official blurb for the show is intriguing. It seems like the perfect show to delve into this Pride month: “A glittery nightclub in 1920s Berlin becomes a haven for LGBTQ+ communities in this documentary exploring the freedoms lost amid Adolf Hitler’s rise to power.”

Continuing the excitement on June 28th is the Sarah Snook film Run Rabbit Run, a gripping thriller that follows a desperate woman whose daughter starts remembering past lives and horrors.

For fans of historical fiction, Ooku: The Inner Chambers arrives on June 29th. This Japanese manga series, modelled on the Edo period in Japan, explores intricate power dynamics in a setting where women hold positions of power instead of men.

On June 30th, Alone returns for its ninth season. This survival reality show challenges contestants to endure harsh conditions and face their deepest fears as they strive to outlast their competitors and win the ultimate prize. Next, is another reality series, Is It Cake, Too?! The second season of this entertaining series takes cake decorating to mind-boggling levels.

Tayo the Little Bus can be what the kids (and their parents) look forward to next. Along with the animated adventure film Nimona. Based on the graphic novel by Noelle Stevenson, this film follows a young shapeshifter named Nimona who teams up with a villain to expose the kingdom’s secrets.
