Every Netflix TV show cancelled in 2022

Times are tight at Netflix, and this has led the streaming giant down a rather more cut-throat path in 2022. With the cost-of-living crisis and other factors causing an exodus of subscribers which has wiped $50 billion from Netflix’s value, they have had to be savvy with funds.

Perhaps the biggest hint at this came when the new mega-hit, The Sandman, was even under threat of being discontinued because completion rates hinted that it might not be able to justify its huge budget for a second season.

Fortunately, for fans of The Sandman, it managed to survive, but others haven’t been so lucky in the great content cull. With new shows like Dahmer: Monster – The Jeffrey Dahmer Story romping towards the top of the charts, the streaming service has focused on fresh features.

This has sadly meant that old favourites like Cooking with Paris, Fate: The Winx SagaPretty Smart, Space Force and others have all been axed by the streaming giant.

However, even new shows have not been immune from this harsh treatment. After receiving shoddy reviews, Resident Evil was cut down after only one season.  And despite a solid run of horror hits, following a disagreement, Mike Flannigan’s new creation, The Midnight Club was also pulled.

While this hostile approach is necessary to stabilise share prices and cut losses from the production side of things, Netflix also has to strike a balance of not upsetting fans. Lord knows how this will pan out in 2023.
