The 2024 Golden Globes list of nominees has been announced. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie is leading with ten nominations, making it the second-highest nominated film of all time in the history of the Golden Globes. But Netflix isn’t far behind with their own coterie of nominated fare.
In the television series categories, The Crown continues its reign with nominations for Best Television Series, in the drama category, Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama (Imelda Staunton). Best Actor in a Television Series – Drama (Dominic West) and Best Female Actor in a Supporting Role On Television (Elizabeth Debicki).
BEEF has secured a nomination for Best Limited Series, while Ali Wong’s standout performance earned her a well-deserved nomination for Best Actress. Meanwhile, Steven Yeun has been nominated for the Best Actor category.
Bradley Cooper’s Maestro has emerged as a strong contender, receiving four nominations, including Best Motion Picture, Drama and Best Director. The film also earned Carey Mulligan a nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama. Cooper himself is recognised for his compelling performance, competing against Colman Domingo from Rustin.
May December stands out with nominations for Best Motion Picture and Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy (Natalie Portman). Charles Melton’s poignant supporting role in the film also earns him a nod in the Best Supporting Actor category. Annette Bening has been nominated for Nyad in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama category.
