Every Netflix movie going into production for the rest of 2025
Netflix has officially rolled up its sleeves now that we’re halfway through 2025. And by that, we don’t just mean in terms of what’s coming next on Netflix. It obviously has a lot to do with what’s to come. But instead of release dates, Best of Netflix is letting you in on what’s in the making on Netflix. The streaming giant currently has cameras rolling for many movies, and here’s the lowdown on every Netflix movie going into production this fall.
On the series front, Netflix clearly has its hands full. But if you think Netflix has loosened its grip movie-wise, well, you’re mistaken. Production has already wrapped up on a new Kevin Hart comedy, 72 Hours, on August 2nd, in New Jersey and Miami, Florida. Meanwhile, production is also currently underway for a coming-of-age Bollywood flick starring Netflix icon Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Best of the Best, which commenced late July and plans to finish on September 11th in New Jersey.
Likewise, filming has kicked off Jeffrey Walker’s upcoming directorial, Allen, in Gold Coast and Brisbane, Australia, although a wrap-up date isn’t available. And good news for Adam Sandler fans who are still not over Happy Gilmore 2, a Sunny Sandler comedy, Don’t Say Good Luck, is in the making in New Jersey, finishing mid-August. Speaking of comedies, Husbands in Action, the South Korean crime-thriller with a comedic twist, is also in production until mid-October.
The comedy script for Little Brother, the John Cena-led Netflix film, has also been in action in New Jersey and NYC, scheduled to complete shooting on August 28th. Another movie that has had the cameras rolling from July is Lena Dunham’s Good Sex. The Natalie Portman-led Netflix project is expected to film throughout September in and around NYC. And alongside, the highly anticipated The Adventures of Cliff Booth has also been filming since July in LA, expected to wrap mid-January 2026.
Voicemails for Isabelle is currently in the works from the mid of July, scheduled to wrap by the end of this Month. Moving on to what’s going into production September onwards, the first Netflix project on the list is the Cameron Diaz comedy, Bad Day. It will start shooting September 29th through December 19th in New York City and New Jersey. Fight for ’84 also has a similar timeline with filming scheduled from September 29th through December 2nd.
Meanwhile, Netflix icon Millie Bobby Brown is planning to return to Atlanta this September. Not because of Stranger Things, but a new Netflix rom-com, Just Picture It. The Last of Mrs Parrish will also start filming from September 9th through November 21st.
According to industry insiders, the filming timeline might stretch for Fast and Loose from August through October. However, updates have been scarce about the Will Smith project. Although Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew was supposed to be originally in production from mid-July, word on the street suggests a later Autumn framework. Additionally, Les Misérables will film in Paris through early November.
The Mosquito Bowl has also set its sights on starting production early in August, continuing till late October. And Here Comes the Flood is eyeing a fall 2025 date in NYC, New Jersey, and Morocco. However, details remain under wraps for The Pilgrimage.
