Every movie and series leaving Netflix this week: September 2025
There is always something bittersweet about Netflix removals. You scroll past a title for months, promising yourself that you will get to it eventually, and suddenly, you watch it stamped with ‘last day to watch’ or ‘leaving soon’.
And that’s when it hits you that even in the world of streaming, nothing lasts forever. And this week’s departures prove it. What’s leaving this week are some beloved series and one blockbuster that still burns bright ten years later.
The week starts on September 8th with a bunch of under-the-radar films like Animal (2016), Cargo (2020), The Champion (2020), and The Shadow (2019). They are the kind of titles you might not have been excited to put on. Oftentimes, they passed your eyes, but you either saved them for later or did not consider bingeing. However, those who did know that these titles surprised them in the most unexpected way. Well, it’s these mid-tier gems that disappear quietly and are the ones you only realise you’ll miss after they’re gone.
Then comes September 9th, and with it the biggest sting: Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). If you have seen it, you know why this departure hurts. George Miller’s action masterpiece is not just cars and explosions. This classic has Charlize Theron’s Furiosa rewriting what a blockbuster heroine could be. The idea that this film won’t be sitting on Netflix waiting for your next adrenaline fix feels wrong. This one, for sure, is a must-watch before it leaves.
September 10th brings a different kind of loss. Greenleaf (Seasons 1–5), a family drama set in a Memphis megachurch, is leaving, taking with it scandals and secrets that built a loyal following. But the real heartbreak is coming for anyone who grew up with Pokémon or discovered it anew on Netflix. Multiple arcs are leaving at once, some of which are Journeys, Master Journeys, Ultimate Journeys, and To Be a Pokémon Master.
We hope you realise that’s years of Ash and Pikachu’s adventures disappearing in one sweep. Alongside that is leaving Titipo Titipo, another kids’ staple. Netflix has played this game before, letting Pokémon vanish only to return later, but until that is confirmed, it feels like a gut punch.
The exits keep rolling. On September 11th, Mohammed Ali Road (2021) departs, and the very next day, Michelle Wolf’s It’s Great to Be Here disappears. This departure is a clear reminder that even Netflix Originals don’t always get to stay forever. By September 13th, it’s Gerard Butler’s turn to wave goodbye with London Has Fallen (2016), a relic of the era when saving the US president was practically its own franchise.
The week ends on September 14th with Change Days (Season 1) and Chosen (Seasons 1–2). These weren’t titles dominating global charts, but if you happened to be invested, you know the sting of watching something you love vanish without fanfare.
