Every movie and series leaving Netflix this week: October 2026
Netflix turns into a moody monster when it comes to scheduling the removals because one week, half the bloody catalogue is heading for the exit, and the next, we are scratching our heads, wondering why they’ve bothered putting out a departure list at all. But this week’s got a rather peculiar twist, because not a single series is leaving Netflix.
Yes, you read that right! The telly crowd has escaped unscathed, but film lovers haven’t been quite so fortunate, with some cult favourites ready to bid farewell to the platform.
And blimey, losing Boyhood is a bitter pill to swallow. Richard Linklater spent 12 years filming this coming-of-age drama with the same cast, watching Ellar Coltrane grow from a little boy into a young adult before our eyes. Just imagine, twelve years. Most filmmakers struggle to get a project off the ground in two years, but Linklater committed over a decade to one film. Patricia Arquette even bagged an Oscar for her performance, so don’t let this gem disappear without giving it a watch.
Pedro Almodóvar’s The Room Next Door is getting the chop on the same day, and that’s another loss worth grumbling about. Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore play two friends reunited under heartbreaking circumstances, with the film marking Almodóvar’s first English-language feature. It also won the Golden Lion at Venice.
And here’s something that’ll have you raising an eyebrow: In for a Murder, a Polish Netflix Original, is leaving on October 19th. A Netflix Original getting kicked off Netflix? You couldn’t make it up! The mystery follows a housewife and crime-fiction enthusiast who finds herself investigating a real murder, although the bigger mystery might be why Netflix can’t keep its own branded films around.
October 20th is taking Go with it, Doug Liman’s cult crime comedy about a drug deal that turns into a complete shambles. Believer is leaving off that day as well, bringing its drug investigation to an end on Netflix.
And as if the adults haven’t had enough to complain about, the little ones are losing Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018) on October 24th. Adam Sandler’s Dracula takes his monster family on a cruise, only to fall head over heels for the ship’s captain, who happens to be hiding a rather inconvenient family secret.
So, while the series department has been given a week off from Netflix, the film catalogue is taking all the wrath. Good luck catching them all.
