Every movie and series leaving Netflix this week: April 2026
Ahh, here we come with your worst nightmare, aka the list of departures. Netflix is all set to remove a mix of some not-so-famous but really good watches this week, and it’s not just random filler; there are some films and shows here that people usually remember after they disappear.
The biggest one is probably Cast Away, leaving on April 7th. The plot is almost too simple for this one: Tom Hanks gets stranded on an island and survives alone, but what people really remember is how real it feels. Here’s a fun fact: Hanks didn’t fake that transformation; production literally stopped so he could lose weight and grow out his hair. And before you know it, a volleyball became one of the most emotional “characters” in the film. Don’t worry, you’ll get the reference when you see it.
On the series side, Queen of the South leaving the same day is a bigger deal than it might seem. Five full seasons gone at once is a lot, especially for a show that people binge so much without realising how good it is. And credit goes to Alice Braga’s performance, which carries the show.
Then there’s O.J.: Made in America, leaving April 12th, which is easily the most serious thing on this list. Warning – It is long, almost eight hours, but you won’t feel like it’s getting dragged for a second. This documentary even won an Oscar, which is rare for something that originally aired like a series. So if you are planning on watching it on a weekday, you might as well apply for leave today.
Some of the other removals are honestly just as worth your time. Kubo and the Two Strings (April 8th) is one of those films people always mean to watch. The focusable part of this film is its making. Did you know the giant skeleton in the film wasn’t CGI but an actual massive stop-motion puppet? It also got nominated for both Animated Feature and Visual Effects at the Oscars, which almost never happens.
Holy Spider (April 7th) is another one where the performance is the main reason to watch. Zar Amir Ebrahimi won Best Actress at Cannes for it. My Friend Dahmer (April 9th) takes a different approach to true crime by focusing on Dahmer before everything we associate with him, which is fascinating for those who like watching the backstory of a criminal.
Then you’ve got the more mainstream stuff. Bad Boys: Ride or Die (April 8th), carried by the chemistry between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, and that’s going to leave a mark. It worked in theatres mostly because that dynamic still clicks.
Another major removal for enemies-to-lovers trope lovers is that The Hating Game is leaving on April 9th. It’s a good watch if you like a lot of sexual tension between your protagonists.
One of the more unusual titles leaving is Piece by Piece, again, on April 7th. It’s a Pharrell Williams documentary told through LEGO animation. It sounds like a gimmick, but it actually makes his story feel more creative and less predictable.
The rest of the week includes A Simple Lie, and We Have Always Lived in the Castle, Story of Kale: When Someone’s in Love, MINTED: The Rise (And Fall?) of the NFT, Girl Haunts Boy, and Deconstructing Harry with Some Other Woman (April 12), along with Sirius the Jaeger leaving on April 6th.
